Swimming advisories lifted for Boardwalk and Greens Harbor beaches
Swimming advisories have been lifted for Boardwalk Beach in East Lyme and Greens Harbor Beach in New London, Ledge Light Health District sanitarian Danielle Holmes said in an email Saturday afternoon.
The two beaches had elevated bacterial counts from this week's sampling, but results from retesting Friday were below the bacterial action levels set by the state, Holmes said.
She noted that rain "or other contaminating events" before the Wednesday and Friday morning samplings can result in higher bacterial counts.
