Gratitude on display in new rock garden at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital
New London — Big messages can come in small packages — or, in this case, painted on small stones.
Susan Curcio of New London organized friends and family members and put out a call on Facebook for people to paint inspirational messages and scenes to show their appreciation and the community's support for medical staff during the "challenging time" of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Wednesday, their efforts culminated in a ceremony — attendees were requested to wear masks and practice social distancing guidelines — for a new Gratitude Garden outside Lawrence + Memorial Hospital's staff entrance. Mystic Pipe & Drums performed for the occasion.
