DOT announces daytime lane closures on I-395 in Montville, Norwich
The state Department of Transportation has announced daytime lane closures on I-395 northbound and southbound in Montville and Norwich due to a project to replace median guiderails and grade the median, including drainage adjustments.
Concrete barriers will be installed in both directions along the left shoulder to allow for the safe removal and installation of guiderail, according to a news release from the DOT.
Daytime lane closures will start at 6:30 a.m. and be removed by 3 p.m. Hours of operation will continue as warranted by current traffic volumes on I-395, the release states. The left shoulder will be closed using concrete barriers to provide for a safe work zone in the highway’s median area.
Drivers are advised to use caution when traveling through work zones. Signing patterns, associated traffic devices, and State Police will be throughout the work zones.
The project was awarded to Atlas Industrial Services, LLC, of Branford for $3.2 million on Sept. 30, 2019, and is scheduled to be completed Oct. 30.
