Dogs' day in Mystic for downtown sidewalk sale

Mystic —It was a dog's day in Mystic on Friday.

We Adopt Greyhounds Inc. brought some of its rescued greyhounds downtown, showing them under a tent in front of Bank Square Books during the first day of the Downtown Mystic Sidewalk Sale event. Several passersby stopped to pet the canines.

WAG, a 501(c)3 charitable organization that rescues and shelters retired racing dogs until suitable homes can be found for them, usually has a tent at the Mystic Outdoor Arts Festival. But that event was canceled this year, so the group instead opted for a showing during the sidewalk sale event, which continues Saturday.
