Mystic — Mystic Seaport Museum shipwrights have been working on the training vessel Liberator at the Henry B. duPont Preservation Shipyard.

The T/V Liberator, a training vessel for the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y., has been in Mystic for maintenance since June and is scheduled on Friday to return to King's Point.

Chris Gasiorek, vice president for watercraft preservation and programs at Mystic Seaport Museum, previously ran waterfront operations at the academy and was there when Liberator was acquired from the Naval Academy in 2007.
