    Groton Town Clerk's office closed for walk-in business until Dec. 14; limited service provided

    Groton — The town clerk’s office will be closed for walk-in business until Dec. 14 and is offering limited service during that time.

    “Due to a boost in positive COVID-19 cases in our area, walk-in customers will be deterred until December 14, 2020," the notice from Town Clerk Betsy Moukawsher states. "This measure is taken for the protection of the public."

    The town clerk's office has provided the following information about limited services:

    Marriage licenses for people to be married in the town of Groton are by appointment only and people should call (860) 441-6640.

    Funeral directors may call (860) 441-6640 for assistance.

    Land Record recordings may be mailed, and people with questions can call (860) 441-6642.

    All Vital Record requests should be mailed or ordered online at www.vitalchek.com.

    Hunting and fishing licenses are available to purchase online at the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection website.

    Shellfish licenses are available at the Groton Town Police Station and Ken’s Bait & Tackle Shop on Thames Street.
