Westerly ice skating rink open to public
Westerly — Pandemic or no, the rink is open.
Visitors lined up Saturday at the Washington Trust Community Skating Center to don skates and take to the ice.
The rink, open seven days a week — weather permitting — is operated by the Ocean Community YMCA and features public skate hours daily, as well as lessons, hockey leagues for all ages and curling. Rental skates, which are disinfected between uses, are available.
Occupancy on the ice is limited to 50 at a time and mask-wearing is required.
