Cold spell expected, with chance of more snow
Tuesday's storm brought plowable snow that was good for sledding, cross-country skiing and other outdoor winter activities.
On Wednesday, Dave and Rose LaFleur of Waterford were among those taking advantage of the wintry landscapes, cross-country skiing through Harkness Memorial State Park. Dave said the conditions were right for the couple to even ski along the beach, which doesn't always happen.
"We call this ski and surf," he laughed.
A cold spell is expected to arrive Thursday and Friday, with a high of 19 degrees on Thursday and mid-20s on Friday, according to the National Weather Service. There's a chance of more snow on Saturday night.
