Montville grand list increases by 2.1%

    Montville — The town's 2020 grand list shows a 2.1% increase compared to 2019.

According to the town's assessor, Lucy Beit, the overall net grand list for combined motor vehicle, real estate and personal property values totaled $1,355,618,710 — a $27,894,994 increase over the 2019 total.

Growth for real estate, which represents 75% of the Grand List, was 0.3%. For motor vehicles, comprising 10% of the grand list, growth was 7.9%. And for personal property, such as business equipment, representing 15% of the Grand List, growth was 7.6%.

Beit said the growth can mostly be attributed to infrastructure upgrades by Eversource and Yankee Gas Services Co.
