Groton — An egret was chilling on a rock Friday at Beebe Pond Park.

The park has 97 acres of woodlands with a salt pond, remnants of an old mill, stone walls, a swamp and stream. Rock outcrops, ledges and large glacial boulders also can be found throughout the property.
