Information session on low-interest disaster loans to be held Wednesday

People can learn about the process for applying for a low-interest disaster relief loan at an online information session held by the Small Business Administration at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10.

"Low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration are available to businesses and residents in Connecticut following the announcement of a Presidential disaster declaration due to the remnants of Hurricane Ida on Sept. 1-2, 2021," an event description states.

"The disaster declaration covers Fairfield and New London counties, including the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the Mohegan Tribal Nation in Connecticut, which are eligible for both Physical and Economic Injury Disaster Loans from the SBA," it said. "Small businesses and most private nonprofit organizations in the following adjacent counties are eligible to apply only for SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans: Hartford, Litchfield, Middlesex, New Haven, Tolland and Windham."

People can register for the information session at bit.ly/idaloans21.

The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is Dec. 29, 2021. The deadline to return economic injury applications is Aug. 1, 2022.
