Make a Difference: Drop-In Learning Center
Who: Children over age 13
Agency: Drop-In Learning Center
The situation: Families have a difficult time meeting everyday needs, let alone Christmas gifts for their older children. Families with kids 12 and under can apply to the Tommy Toy Fund, but the Drop-In Learning Center has many families that also have older children.
What to give: Winter clothes, hats and gloves, sweatshirts, socks and shoes. Gifts for older children could be skateboards, personal hygiene items, books and pajamas. Walmart gift cards, gas cards and grocery store gift cards also would be appreciated.
To donate: Call Pearlie Cook at the Drop-In Learning Center, (860) 442-4466. Items may also be brought to the center at 76 Federal St. in New London or mailed to Drop-In Learning Center, P.O. Box 848, New London, CT 06320.
