Make A Difference: Thames River Family Program
WHO: Anita, a young mother with a 1-year-old daughter, Ana
AGENCY: Thames River Family Program, which provides transitional housing for homeless, pregnant and parenting youth 18 to 24 years old.
THEIR SITUATION: Anita entered emergency shelter, overwhelmed by demands of parenting, lacking life skills and unemployed. She worked hard during her residency, and has secured child care and employment and is taking a certified nursing assistant class. She has transitioned into her first apartment and will have a home for the holidays.
WHAT TO DONATE: For Ana: size 2T clothing and educational toys. Anita wears size XL tops and 16 bottoms. Any décor for her apartment, any gift card would be appreciated.
