Cookie decorating at Rose City Senior Center
Norwich Youth & Family Services recently collaborated with Get Carried Away Cookies and the Rose City Senior Center to offer the first of many grandparent-grandchildren cookie decorating events, with over 100 families participating.
NYFS reached out to NFA’s Project Outreach program for help at the event. Nine NFA students were there to assist with setup, cleanup and to interact with attendees.
Councilman Derell Wilson and Bully Busters member Patrice David volunteered their time as Santa and Mrs. Claus to say hello to everyone at this holiday themed event.
Although COVID-19 prevented a handful of families from attending, they were able to pick up the kits at the Norwich Youth & Family Services office so they could enjoy the activity at home.
Cookie decorating events are not all NYFS offers for grandparents. It also has monthly meetings at the Rose City Senior Center for Grandparents Raising Grandkids, a support group for those who are raising their grandchildren.
