Mystic Garden Club receives awards from Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut
Mystic Garden Club recently was the recipient of four awards from the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut.
Certificate of Individual Achievement — Civic Development: Paul Coutu, an experienced Master Gardener was recognized for his continued efforts in sharing his expertise by teaching and encouraging club members.
Beautification Award — Ellen Dieckerhoff and Patty Schurr, co-chairs of the Civic Committee, and the 45 members of the Mystic Garden Club received the award for the Club’s beautification of historic downtown Mystic. Under the leadership of the co-chairs, the committee seasonally plants and maintains all the flower boxes that adorn downtown.
Certificate of Individual Achievement — Joanne Lukaszewicz received the Environmental Concerns award for her emphasis on encouraging native plants, supporting pollinators, and identifying and removing invasive plants.
Special Appreciation Certificate — Joan Sienkiewicz was awarded the club certificate of appreciation for her efforts in keeping all club members digitally connected during the pandemic including technically managing all Zoom meetings.
