Vigil against racism to be held in Norwich
Norwich — The public is invited to gather Monday evening for a vigil to stand against racism in the wake of the racially motivated shooting of 10 Black people at a grocery store in a Black neighborhood May 14.
The gathering will run from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday at the Public Art for Racial Justice Education mural on the Market Street parking garage, 82 Chelsea Harbor Drive, Norwich.
Participants are invited to read poems, sing songs or say prayers.
The event is sponsored by Cornerstone Church, the Sikh community in Norwich and Baha’i community.
