    Upcoming COVID-19 clinics in Groton

Groton ― Several free COVID-19 vaccination clinics will be held over the next 10 days in Groton.

There will be opportunities to get vaccinated during National Night Out on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Poquonnock Plains Park (150 Fort Hill Road); during City of Groton Day on Friday from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at Washington Park (155 Meridian St.); and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Groton Public Library (52 Newtown Road).

Vaccination clinics also will be held in collaboration with the Groton Summer Meal Program on Thursday, Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thames River Magnet School (250 Brandegee Ave.), Washington Park, and Poquonnock Plains Park.

Walk-ins are welcome, and no appointment is needed, according to a flier from the state Department of Public Health and Griffin Health.

“Please bring a health insurance card and photo ID if you have them, but it is not necessary to have health insurance or ID to receive the vaccine,” the notice states. “No one will be turned away for lack of insurance or ID.”

The vaccination clinics will be for ages six months and up. First doses, second doses and boosters will be available.
