Stonington _ Town Clerk Sally Duplice said Tuesday that she has been notified that some political campaigns plan to send out absentee ballot applications for the Nov. 8 election to registered voters in town even if they have not requested one.

Duplice stressed the mailing is not from the Town Clerk’s office. She said voters, who plan to go to the polls on Election Day or have already requested and received an absentee ballot from the Town Clerk’s Office, can disregard absentee ballot applications they receive from campaigns.
