Mystic ―Shipwrights work on the retired New York City fireboat Gov. Alfred E. Smith hauled out at Mystic Seaport Musem’s Henry B. duPont Preservation Shipyard Thursday.
The fireboat served the city of New York from 1961 to 2016 and is now being converted into a floating restaurant by the same restaurateurs who operate the oyster bars Pilot and Grand Banks in New York City aboard former fishing schooners that have also been restored at the museum shipyard.
