Staff at Mystic Seaport Museum’s Henry B. duPont Preservation Shipyard launch an authentic Venetian gondola into the Mystic River for Matthew “Marcello” Haynes of La Gondola Providence, Inc., Thursday, October 13, 2022. Mystic - A little bit of Venice, by way of Providence, will be on the Mystic River this weekend.

Matthew “Marcello” Haynes, of La Gondola Providence, Inc., will be rowing his genuine Venetian gondola for visitors to a new exhibit at Mystic Seaport Museum.

Haynes and his gondola will be offering rides from the museum this weekend for the opening of the new exhibit; Sargent, Whistler, and Venetian Glass: American Artists and the Magic of Murano that opens Saturday in the museum’s Collins Gallery.
