From the Children’s Room: A new reading challenge, a new program and the return of Story Time

In the new year, we have a brand new Winter Reading Challenge, All the Feels, for children ages 8 to 13 during January. You can register on stoningtonfreelibrary.beanstack.org and log your reading time online in one-hour increments. After reading four hours and earning the two activity badges — one for visiting the library and one describing yourself in emoticons — you will be eligible for a raffle ticket for a special prize. It’s simple, fun, and you get to pick whatever you like to read!

Story Time resumes on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. Note that there is no Story Time on holidays or in case of inclement weather. Please check our website to see if we are closed or have a delayed opening.

Our early literacy challenge, 50 to Grow On, continues through March 31. It is for children aged 7 and below; you can sign up and log books through Beanstack. After reading the 50 books, each child receives a completion prize and a chance for one of the stuffed animals on display in the Children’s Room.

Comment threads are monitored for 48 hours after publication and then closed.
