    Mystic Seaport gets $150,000 grant

Mystic — Mystic Seaport Museum has announced Tuesday it has been awarded a $150,000 Connecticut Cultural Fund Operating Support Grant from Connecticut Humanities.

The museum said it would use the funds in three areas: increasing visitation and audience, improving technology and its online presence, and growing revenue.

The grant, one of 725 awarded totaling more than $8.5 million as part of a $30.7 million, two-year initiative by the General Assembly to invest in arts, humanities, and cultural non-profits in the state.

“In the coming year, the Museum plans to improve vital elements of our digital infrastructure, including Wi-Fi enhancements, digitizing our collections, and upgrading system tools that will improve efficiency across the Museum and allow for more targeted, meaningful engagement with all of our stakeholders,” said museum President Peter Armstrong in a press release. “We are grateful to CT Humanities for supporting our efforts to expand accessibility and create more impactful interactions with the Museum.”
