Three Rivers offers 16 full scholarships to nuclear program

Norwich ― Three Rivers Community College and Dominion Energy are again offering 16 full scholarships for the college’s two-year nuclear engineering technology degree program. The application deadline for students interested in enrolling in the fall is Feb. 20.

The program teaches students about the safe operation of nuclear power generating stations, through classroom, laboratory and simulator instruction. It is the only program of its kind in New England.

The scholarship covers the cost of tuition, books and fees for the associate degree program. Students also get a $150-per-month stipend during the nine months of the academic year and a 12-week paid internship at Millstone Nuclear Power Station in summer 2024.

To learn more, call program chairman and professor James Sherrard at (860) 215-9472 or visit threerivers.edu/nuclear. The application is also available at this website.
