Incumbent Republican Lanoue endorsed in 45th state House District; Democrats seek candidate
Three-term Republican state Rep. Brian Lanoue received a unanimous endorsement last week from his party to seek reelection to his 45th District state house seat but does not yet have a certain opponent.
Lanoue, a Griswold resident who owns a small business there, thanked delegates from the five district towns for their support at the convention last Thursday.
“It is the honor of my life to be your voice at the state Capitol,” Lanoue said in a statement following the endorsement. “Thank you for this opportunity and I look forward to continuing my service to eastern Connecticut.”
Democrats endorsed Kayla Thompson of Preston as a placeholder candidate, allowing them more time to secure a candidate to challenge Lanoue, Preston Democratic Town Committee Chairman Nicholas Vegliante said.
The district covers Griswold, Ledyard, Lisbon, Preston and Voluntown.
