    Groton ― Operation Homefront held its 17th annual Back-to-School Brigade for children Thursday at a military housing community here.

    The program distributed 330 backpacks filled with school supplies for children in elementary school to high school. It is part of an national effort to provide school supplies to military children.

    The event also offered information from organizations such as Blue Star Families and Military OneSource that support military personnel and families.
