Groton ― The Town of Groton Police Department is inviting people to apply to attend its Citizens Police Academy.

The 10-week program will be held Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. at the Groton Police Headquarters at 68 Groton Long Point Road, starting on Sept. 26.

The educational and hands-on program will cover the topics of recruitment/hiring, patrol functions, criminal investigations, community policing, emergency communications, DUI/narcotics and K-9 unit.
