Second Congressional District debate at Connecticut College
The Day, WFSB News 3 and Connecticut College are hosting a Second Congressional District debate at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at Evans Hall on the campus of Conn College where we’ll ask the candidates — U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney, a Democrat, and Republican challenger Mike France — to answer questions on local and national issues.
The Day’s Lee Howard is moderating, and the panel will be made up of The Day’s opinion page editor Owen Poole; WFSB chief political reporter Susan Raff; and Sophia Williams, a Connecticut College student and ambassador of Camels Vote, a nonpartisan campus initiative that promotes voting and civic engagement.
The debate will be broadcast live on Channel 3 and live-streamed on theday.com.
The debate is free and there are a limited number of public tickets available. Please come to the front desk of The Day, 47 Eugene O’Neill Drive, New London, from 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday to reserve a seat.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and close promptly at 6:45 p.m. Attendees are reminded to not wear or display campaign signs or other campaign paraphernalia.
