Celebrate Mystic to be held Saturday
Mystic ― Celebrate Mystic, which began two years ago to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Mystic Bascule Bridge, is back for the third year.
This year’s event will focus “on Mystic and all it has to offer, particularly for the local community.” The event, which will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday on Cottrell Street, will feature numerous local restaurants, a concert stage “and fun for everyone,” according to a news release.
Local restaurants will offer dishes. The restaurants include Shipwright’s Daughter, 85th Day Food Community, Bank & Bridge, Favorite’s Bistro Bar, Golden Dragon (Foxwoods Resort Casino), Rocks 21, Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream, Surf Cantina and Chapter One, Toast & Tonic, River Bar, Bleu Ginger and Lancer Hospitality.
The Spicer Propane Celebrate Mystic Stage will feature a ‘60s Explosion Show from 1 to 4 p.m., followed by Wicked Peach from 5 to 8 p.m.
"This year, we are celebrating Mystic and how it continues to elevate the region,“ Bruce Flax, president of the Greater Mystic Chamber, said in a statement. “This is a day for the locals to come down, enjoy food, music and libations!”
There will be additional parking options. People can download the GO Mystic App at the Apple Store or Google Play for an event map, restaurant listing and offerings, and parking spots.
