    Seaweed for a cause

    Groton ― Volunteers with Groton Community Meals spent time collecting seaweed at Eastern Point Beach Tuesday for use on their gardens.

    The seaweed will cover the vegetable gardens over the winter and in the spring will mixed into the soil as fertilizer.

    Groton Community Meals offers meals twice a week at two locations _ the Thrive 55+ Active Living Center, and Thames River Magnet School, and serve approximately 200 meals at each location.
