Courtney campaign more than doubled France’s fundraising in 3rd quarter
U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney, the Democrat running for reelection in the 2nd Congressional District, raised more than twice as much money as his Republican challenger, Mike France, between July 1 and Sept. 30, campaign filings this week with the Federal Election Commission show.
Courtney, seeking a 10th term in the Nov. 5 election, brought in $301,027 during the quarter while France raised $138,642.
Courtney’s campaign spent $297,939 and had $628,178 in cash on-hand at the end of the quarter. France’s campaign disbursed $126,075 in the period, leaving it with $65,697 in cash on-hand.
From the start of the 2023-24 election cycle, the period from Jan. 1, 2023, to Sept. 30, 2024, Courtney raised more than $1.2 million. In that time, France raised more than $641,000.
The Courtney-France race is a rematch of their 2022 contest.
