Road closures announced for Sunday’s Tarzan Brown Mystic River Run
Mystic ― The Town of Groton Police Department have announced there will be a traffic alert and road closures in downtown Mystic on Sunday between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. during the 48th annual Tarzan Brown Mystic River Road Race.
The following road closures will be in effect for the Mystic section of Groton:
― Pearl Street will be closed between Clift and West Main Streets from 11:30 a.m. to the end of the race.
― Clift Street, Grove Avenue, Starr Street and Gravel Street will be closed at 12:45 p.m. for the children’s run and again just before the start of the adult race, which starts at 1 p.m. The closures are expected to last a minimal amount of time.
― River Road will be closed just before 1 p.m. and will reopen as soon as it is safe.
“The Town of Groton Police Department wants to remind everyone to be vigilant and safe when traveling in the downtown Mystic area during the Tarzan Brown Road Race,” police said. “We also ask for your continued support to ensure we provide a safe and fun environment for all runners, family, and spectators.”
