Bumgardner elected to third House term
Groton ― State Rep. Aundré Bumgardner, D-Groton, who ran uncontested, was elected Tuesday to his third term from the 41st House District.
He received 9,311 votes to represent the district covering parts of Groton and Stonington, according to unofficial results that did not include same-day registration in Groton and Stonington and absentee ballots in Groton.
“Thank you to the residents of Groton, Mystic and Stonington for once again placing your trust in me to represent our 41st District,” said Bumgardner, a Mystic resident and former Groton Town Councilor. “I am incredibly grateful for your support and energized to continue working on the issues that matter most to us. From strengthening protections for our environment, improving housing access and promoting sustainable development, to advocating for educational opportunities and economic growth, I am committed to making sure our voices are heard in Hartford.”
He thanked his family, friends and supporters for their support.
Bumgardner, 30, was elected to his second House term in 2022, after having been elected to his first term in 2014, when the district covered parts of New London and Groton.
