New England falls to Buffalo in NLL East Division showdown
Mohegan — With first place in the East Division at stake, the New England Black Wolves lost to the Buffalo Bandits, 18-13, in National Lacrosse League action Friday night before 5,357 fans at Mohegan Sun Arena.
The Black Wolves were within 15-13 with three minutes, 56 seconds left when Buffalo scored three straight goals to cement the win.
It was the first home loss of the season for New England (4-3), which dropped its second straight. The Bandits won their third straight, improving to 5-3 overall.
Kevin Crowley scored a goal in his 26th straight game for New England and finished with a season-high eight points on four goals and four assists. Shawn Evans had a season-high five goals with two assists while Stephan Leblanc had a season high six assists and added a goal.
Dhane Smith led Buffalo with four goals and also had an assist while Josh Byrne added three goals and two assists.
