New Haven — Senior John Marcolina of the Fitch/Stonington/Ledyard/Norwich Tech boys’ swimming co-op finished second in the 50 freestyle (21.34) at Thursday night’s CIAC State Open.

Marcolina also finished seventh in the 100 freestyle (47.71) and teamed with August Murko, Keegan Reck and Joseph Vignato to place 11th in the 400 freestyle relay (3:22.23).

Marcolina won the 100 freestyle at Monday’s Class L Championship and was runner-up in the 50 freestyle.

Greenwich won its seventh straight team title (600 points) and its 36th overall, by far the most in the Open’s 48-year history.

Fellow Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference schools New Canaan (480.5) and Ridgefield (378.5) followed the Cardinals, and the Fitch co-op placed 19th (93).

College baseball

• The Coast Guard Academy baseball team wrapped up its Florida trip with a 3-0 win over Alfred State on Thursday morning behind Brett Sullivan's two-hitter.

The Bears, who went 5-2 at the Gene Cusic Classic, capped the trip with a gem by Sullivan. The junior struck out a career-high 13 and didn't walk any, facing one batter over the minimum. He set down 22 straight before giving up a single in the eighth inning, which was erased on a doubleplay. Jon Pressley and Jake Behne had RBI singles in the sixth inning and Jeremy Lhotka added a sacrifice fly in the eighth.

College softball

• Waterford's Claire Hurley had four hits and scored three runs as Coast Guard split a doubleheader at Clermont, Fla. The Bears lost to Scranton 6-2 to start the day then beat Ursinus 8-5. In the second game, Carly Hattman was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Courtney McKenna had two hits and drove in three runs for Coast Guard (3-5).   

Men's lacrosse

• Brian Wagner had three goals and three assists to pace Regis (Mass.) past Mitchell on Wednesday, 11-8. Kyle Marsh had three goals and an assist for the Mariners (0-4) and Jake Karnes scored twice. Ethan LePain and Nick Loris also added a goal and an assist.

Women's tennis

• Emily Migliorini picked up a pair of victories as Connecticut College beat St. Mary's of Indiana 8-1 at San Marcos, Texas. Migliorini won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and teamed up with Allison Falvey for an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles. Stephanie Simon, Paige Braithwaite, Rachel Weiss, Hayley Zukerberg and Brooke Scully won singles matches and Skylar Morgan and Meredith Kenny won at No. 3 doubles for Conn (4-20, which has won three straight matches.

Men's tennis

• Southwestern (Texas) downed Conn College on Wednesday, 8-1. The number three doubles team of Johnny Cissel and Henry DeCoster won for Conn (2-2).

Women's basketball

• UConn senior Napheesa Collier is one of five finalists for the Katrina McClain Award, as the top forward in Division I. She leads the Huskies with 20.9 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. The other finalists are Lauren Cox of Baylor, Reyna Frost of Central Michigan, Ruthy Hebard of Oregon and Alanna Smith of Stanford.
