Black Wolves' Jamieson named NLL Goaltender of the Year

Mohegan – Doug Jamieson of the New England Black Wolves was named National Lacrosse League Goaltender of the Year on Tuesday night.

It was the first NLL award of Jamieson's career.

In addition, Jamieson and forward Callum Crawford were named to the All-NLL first team while forward Andrew Kew and defenseman Joe Nardella were named to the All-Rookie team.

"Doug has matured into a top-end NLL goalie," head coach Glenn Clark said in a release. "When we drafted Dougie this is the trajectory that we thought he would take. He's been patient and professional in his development and we are seeing the benefits of his approach."

Jamieson led the NLL in save percentage (.829) and goals against average (8.80). He was increased his save percentage to 82.9 from 78.4 the previous season and cut his goals against average to 8.8 from 12.28 in 2019.

The Black Wolves were 8-3 when the NLL suspended play due to the COVID-19 pandemic (the season was eventually canceled). Jamieson finished with 462 saves in 11 games.

Crawford, a finalist for league MVP, led the league in goals (33) and points (76) while Kew finished with 15 goals and 27 assists in 10 games, finishing third among rookies in points (42) and first in assists. Nardella, a faceoff specialist, ranked first among rookies in faceoff win percentage (.578) and second in total wins (160) in 11 games.

Georgia's Shayne Jackson was named NLL MVP while Philadelphia's Paul Day was named Coach of the Year and General Manager of the Year.
