    Local roundup: CGA sweeps Conn College in volleyball

    New London — Coast Guard Academy won three competitive games to sweep Connecticut College in a volleyball match on Thursday night.

    Game scores were 28-26, 25-23, and 25-20.

    Amanda Dake led the Bears (13-6) with 14 kills, 11 digs, and three aces while Sophia Galdamez added 11 kills, nine digs and two blocks, Kaela France had 18 digs and Noelle Tursky finished with 34 assists and 10 digs.

    Christina Leduc finished with eight kills and 10 digs for the Camels (5-10) while Natasha Shrivastava added 25 assists and nine digs and Julia Dailey had 23 digs.

    H.S. field hockey

    • Hannah Nulick scored three goals as Stonington celebrated senior night with a 7-1 Eastern Connecticut Conference victory over Killingly. Maddie Mendez, Sam Harris, Alex Fidrych and Etta Lund also scored goals for the Bears (11-2, 9-0) while Gabby Dimock, Dillon Griscom and Sophia Fernholz had assists.

    • Fitch rallied from a 2-1 halftime deficit to earn a 3-3 overtime nonleague draw at Morgan. Ashleigh Holmes scored two goals for the Falcons (8-3-2) while Bridget O'Leary added a goal and an assist and goalie Abriel Carey made seven saves.

    • Joyce Mak scored a pair of goals as Waterford defeated Norwich Free Academy 5-0 in the ECC. Sophia Hathaway added a goal and an assist for the Lancers (5-7-2, 3-5-2) while Lauren Montanari and Sam San Juan each scored a goal.

    Girls' soccer

    • Katherine Gutierrez scored the lone goal in Windham's 1-0 upset of Montville in an ECC Division III match. Montville's loss allowed Ledyard to clinch at least a share of the of the division title. Ledyard is 6-0 in the division with two matches to play, and the Colonels meet Montville (7-7, 5-2) on Tuesday night. Goalie Sydney Cook made four saves for the Indians, who held a 13-5 edge in shots.

    • Goals by Meredith Healy and Margaret Dunne lifted East Lyme to a 2-0 nonleague win over Valley Regional. Sarina McCollum assisted on Healy's goal in the first half for the Vikings (12-2) and goalie Lillian Massung made three saves.

    • Janelle Lambert scored an unassisted goal on a rebound for the first goal and Norwich Tech went on to defeat Platt Tech 2-0 in the CTC. Goalie Avery Sulman set up the final goal for the Warriors (6-5-2) when her punt was taken down by Shelby Rice, who went directly to goal and scored.

    H.S. volleyball

    • East Lyme completed a perfect run through ECC Division I with a 25-9, 25-8 and 25-13 win over NFA. Shae McMunn had 16 assists for the Vikings (14-2, 6-0) and Summer Dubreuil added five kills and three aces. NFA is 3-11, 1-5).

    • Hand rallied for an 18-25, 15-25, 25-16, 25-22 and 15-10 nonleague win over Waterford. Kate Lange had 13 kills and six digs for the Lancers (7-9) while Marina Colonis added 11 kills, Izzi Fraser had 26 assists, 10 digs and five kills, and Erica Mugovero had 19 digs and three aces.

    Women's soccer

    • Claire Hounslow scored three times for Lesley in its 4-0 win over Mitchell in Wednesday night's New England Collegiate Conference game. Macey Merlo scored for the Lynx (11-3-1, 3-0) and Kerrie Larson and Courtney McCluskey each had an assist. Angelina Munoz had nine saves for the Mariners (4-8-1, 0-1).
