Local roundup: ECC football coaches honor Fitch's Williams, Ellis

The Eastern Connecticut Conference anounced its football all-star teams on Sunday.

Players of the year were announced for all three divisions and Fitch coach Mike Ellis was named the ECC Coach of the Year. Ellis led the Falcons to the Division I title.

Fitch senior running back Thomas Williams was named ECC Division I Player of the Year, Woodstock Academy senior quarterback Ethan Davis was named ECC Division II Player of the Year and Killingly senior running back Jack Sharpe was named ECC Division III Player of the Year.

Men's basketball

• Quinton Lott scored 30 points and had eight rebounds as Eastern Connecticut State beat Connecticut College 70-61 in a nonleague game. Former St. Bernard standout Max Lee had six points, eight rebounds, eight assists and four steals for ECSU (4-3). Jarron Flynn scored 22 points with six rebounds and Austin Lavitt scored 12 for Conn (1-3).

Women's basketball

• Eastern Connecticut State beat Conn College 57-40 in a nonleague game. Jaycie Rojik led Conn (1-5) with 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Anna Barry led ECSU (3-3) with nine points, 11 rebounds and five assists.

Women's hockey

• Conn College picked up its first win of the season, beating Manhattanville 3-1. Casey Godfrey, Miyu Miyazaki and Natalie Witkowski scored goals, Camille Phelan had two assists, Carly Denora made seven saves and Kiley Smith had an assist for the Camels (1-3).

Men's hockey

• Conn College lost 1-0 to host Skidmore in the Skidmore Thanksgiving Invitational final. Will Dow-Kenney scored for Skidmore (4-3-1) with five minutes left in the third period. Michael McHale made 24 saves for Conn (1-3).
