New London — Connecticut College rallied from an eight-point deficit after three quarters to defeat Westfield State 66-60 in a non-conference women's basketball game on Tuesday night.

The Camels (2-6), who snapped a five-game losing streak, outscored the Owls 23-9 in the fourth quarter.

Molly Cronin led Conn with 14 points while Rebecca Obeverman-Levine finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.

In other games:

• Amanda Fudge scored a game-high 27 points, including four 3-pointers, as St. Joseph of Hartford held off Mitchell College 71-69 in a non-conference game. Amina Wiley had 22 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Mariners (4-4) while Le'Sandra Turner and Dede Stevenson finished with 14 points apiece.

• Three players finished with double-doubles as UConn Avery Point outscored Massasoit Community College 26-6 in the third quarter and rolled to a 75-65 Region XXI victory in Groton. Adeline Smith led the way with 28 points and 15 rebounds for the Pointers (4-6, 3-0) while Trinity Angel finished with 18 points and 22 rebounds and Francesca Foster had 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Women's hockey

• Camille Phelan's third-period goal broke a 2-2 tie and lifted Conn College to a 3-2 win over UMass Boston in a nonleague game. Cecily Hetzel and Kiley Smith also had goals and Melissa Alexander, Morgan Bronstein and Phelan had assists and Abby Wieczorek made 13 saves for the Camels (2-4-1).

Men's hockey

• Erik Larsson scored twice as host Salem State beat Conn College 3-1 in a nonleague game. Anthony Quatieri scored for Conn (1-4) and Devan Newhook and Colin McCabe assisted on the goal.

H.S. football

• UConn football commit Victor Rosa of Bristol Central has been named the Gatorade Connecticut Player of the Year. Rosa, who played quarterback for the Rams but will likely be used in a different role for the Huskies, rushed for 2,728 yards and 41 touchdowns as Bristol Central went 9-2 and qualified for the Class L playoffs.

He also passed for 849 yards and eight touchdowns. Rosa also plays basketball for the Rams and captured the 200-meter dash the Class L track and field championships as a junior.

"Victor Rosa is an absolute monster on the field," said Farmington coach Chris Machol said in a release. "What makes him good is that he has a combination of breakaway speed, power, agility and vision. He is one of the better players I have coached against in my 12 years here."

H.S. girls' basketball

• Williams School opened its season with a 46-16 loss to Fishers Island School. Marlee Anselmi led Williams with eight points.
