Tractor trailer crash closes I-95 in Stonington

Stonington — The driver of a tractor trailer was killed Monday night when his truck went off the side of Interstate 95 northbound just under the Pequot Trail over pass, police said.
The tractor trailer was destroyed by fire in the 8:15 p.m. incident and was lying on its side just under the overpass.
The highway had been closed in both directions between Exits 90 and 91, but state police said the southbound lanes were reopened about 9:30 p.m. As of 10:30, the northbound lanes remained closed.
