Bernie Sanders campaign reminds voters of deadline to switch parties
North Stonington — A contact with the Bernie Sanders campaign in Connecticut is reminding voters registered in a political party that they have until Jan. 26 to change their party affiliation if they wish to vote in the primary of another party.
Marilyn Mackay, who works with the Bernie Sanders campaign, issued the news release early last week.
"It is suggested you make the change prior to the Winter Holidays to avoid forgetting to so do," Mackay wrote. "Those not registered to vote should do so to avoid being ineligible to vote in the Primary."
Voters that are not registered in either party may affiliate with either party up to the day before election day on April 26.

The foundation also announced changes in the half-marathon course, including one that brings runners through Mystic Seaport Museum.
The Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting Wednesday night to interview three firms and possibly select one of them to investigate how school officials handled the allegations against former high school teacher Timothy Chokas.
Before any of these machine-assisted operations were in town, there was another option for car owners in Mystic.
“We wanted each student to feel good about themselves when they arrived at school and found a special kindness note on their locker,” Michelle Noehren, chair of the Kindness Committee, said.
