'Truth for Youth' Bible events kick off Saturday
New London — Lee Robinson, youth pastor at Citywide Baptist Church, is holding a series of "Truth for Youth" events over the next three Saturdays, in which Bible stories will be intermixed with games, activities and meals.
The kickoff event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Bates Woods Park.
The Christian teachings, which are geared toward children between the ages of 5 and 12, revolve around the words of Jesus and the idea of why we should be moral, Robinson said.
Other "Truth for Youth" events will be held on consecutive Saturdays during the same period at the courtyard next to the Crystal Avenue highrises and at Toby May Field.
"The different neighborhoods represent a lot of different cultures and demographics," Robinson, a New London resident, said. "We feel responsible to this community right here."
