Montville, Waterford candidates to debate on Sunday

Lori Hopkins-Cavanagh, founder of American Liberty Center and radio host of the Lori on Liberty Show, will host a live two-hour debate for Connecticut's 37th and 38th District House seats from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday at Langley’s Restaurant at the Great Neck Country Club in Waterford.

The candidates attending from East Lyme and Salem are Republican Holly Cheeseman and Democrat Beth Hogan. The candidates from Waterford and Montville are incumbent state Rep. Kathleen McCarty, R-Waterford, Democrat Sharon Palmer and Green Party candidate Lauren Shaw.

The debate format includes a 10-minute, one-on-one interview with each candidate, followed by questions taken from the audience. Presented by WJJF 94.9 FM radio, the debate broadcasts live, streams live and will be available to run on cable access.

American Liberty Center is playing an important role in helping voters make up their minds and understand issues critical to their community,” Hopkins-Cavanagh said in a statement. “Residents can meet these candidates in person, hear their positions and understand their core values before heading to the polls and sending them to Hartford.”
