Fill the Boot
New London — Firefighter Evan Giesing collects donations Friday along Bank Street in New London, during the New London Firefighters Local #1522 Fill the Boot campaign to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The city fire department will be seeking donations to fill the boot outside of the North Station, 240 Broad St., and fire headquarters, 289 Bank St., from 1 to 3p.m. every Friday of August.
The nationwide campaign began in 1954 and has raised over $558 million in donations, according to the union's website.
