Samantha Gagnon and Nicholas Melesko were united in marriage on June 24, 2017 in La Jolla, Calif. The evening ceremony took place at Scripps Institute of Oceanography overlooking the Pacific.

Sam is the daughter of Raquel Pacheco and Rene Gagnon of Fall River, Mass. Nick is the son of Marlene and Vincent Melesko of East Lyme.

The witnesses were Raquel Pacheco, mother of the bride and Alex Melesko, brother of the groom. The flower girls were Arden Blackmore and Anna Swanson. Sam was given in marriage by her father, Rene, and Nick by his parents, Marlene and Vinny. The officiate was Todd Preble, a family friend.

The bride wore a gown handmade in Barcelona, Spain by Pronovia with a Cathedral length veil.

The couple honeymooned for five weeks in Bali and Thailand.

Sam and Nick received their nursing degrees from the University of Rhode Island where they met and are nurses for the San Diego Unified School District. They reside in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego, Calif.
