Niantic — The family of Terry and Esther Mitchell of Mitchell Drive, Niantic, announce the celebration of their Diamond wedding anniversary. After 60 years, the ribbon of union remains intact, with their faith and family by their side, their love for one another never stronger.

Terry and Esther married at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Hartford, Jan. 31, 1960. Enjoying a lifetime filled with family, friends, and the Greek American community both near and far. Terry owned and operated Mitchell’s Supermarkets in Niantic and Old Saybrook. He continues to be a pillar in the Greek American community through his philanthropy with AHEPA and in service to the Greek Orthodox Church locally and nationally. Esther shares Terry’s commitment to their Church and community. She was President of the Auxiliary of Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, and through organizations like the Philoptochos and Daughters of Penelope. Their home remains a welcoming crossroads for their children, grandchildren and friends.
