Marjorie Ficarra of Quaker Hill is pleased to announce the engagement of her daughter, Tianna Nichole, to Matthew Victor White, son of Mary White of Quaker Hill. Tia is the daughter of the late Tony Ficarra, and Matt is the son of the late Jim White.

In keeping with their unique personalities and love of the outdoors, Tia and Matt became engaged in January in the middle of a snowstorm on the beach in Waterford.

Tia is a 2016 graduate of Waterford High School and is employed as a customer service teller at Citizens Bank in New London. Matt is a 2013 graduate of Waterford High School and a 2017 graduate of UCONN, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He is the Shelter Manager at the Warm Center in Westerly and is pursuing his Master of Social Work (MSW) degree at Southern Connecticut State University. They reside in Waterford with their dog Colton and cat Peeps.
