Groton — Crews from the Submarine Force Library and Museum and contractor LBI, Inc., put the finishing touches installing the Submarine NR-1 exhibit on the grounds of the museum in Groton Friday. The NR-1 was a nuclear powered deep diving research and recovery vessel from the time of its launch in 1969 until it was taken out of service in 2008.

The exhibit includes the sail with periscope mast and fairwater planes, the upper rudder two propellers and a manipulator arm. The exhibit will be officially dedicated in a ceremony June 24.
