Must be part of Malloy's "new reality".
Targeting and ending are two very different outcomes.

It might mean what it states:

"that there is a system in place to target homelessness among the veteran population.

"That doesn't mean there will never be another homeless veteran " Then what is the point in declaring it has ended .
It is stupid to say.

You can't help homeless people unless they actually look for and accept help. They also have to be willing to work with the system. Many homeless shelters however have drug restrictions and curfews which some people aren't willing to accept.

What part of the statements below don't the people commenting understand?
Would people rather the state not do anything.
If it was up to the GOP funds would be cut for this and other programs.

That doesn't mean there will never be another homeless veteran but that there is a system in place to target homelessness among the veteran population.

"We won't end homelessness in the sense of no new people," said Cathy Zall, executive director of the New London Homeless Hospitality Center.

Connecticut had met the necessary "criteria" for ending veteran homelessness.

This is so sad and disheartening. How can our illustrious leaders come out and make a statement like, "We have ended homelessness for our veterans", when in fact they haven't this at all.. What they have actually done is word- smithed themselves out of the problem. They now say they have end chronic homelessness for our veterans. which means what?

Maybe we need to ask the Clintons what this is supposed to mean. They seam to know the answers to some of our daunting questions such as, " I did not send or receive any classified information in my personal email system",. or "I did not have sexual relations with that woman".

Progressive propaganda and cocktail party fodder for limousine liberal "advocates". Malloy announced also that Connecticut has a booming economy and no deficit.

Game of words, true. What about putting focus on all homeless, end. There are mentally ill, physically disabled and the list goes on...

Dan,

I also noticed in the article that the word disabled only came out once.

So, they aren't talking about ALL vets. Only disabled vets.

So misleading.

"Gov. Dannel P. Malloy recently announced that Connecticut became the second state in the nation to end veteran homelessness"

Any reasonable thinking person would take this to mean that homelessness for veterans has ended. The sad fact for our veterans is that this is not so. The federal government bureaucrats have redefined what homelessness means. This seems to be the way of the new world. Redefine the parameters and then the new scenario will fit the desired agenda.

This is a game of words and our veterans are the ones that lose.

The terrible thing when it comes to our veterans who have fell on hard times and are homeless, but not disabled they are not counted as "HOMELESS VETERANS". Serve your country to be pushed off into the shadows by bureaucrats and politicians that care far more about being to make a false claim than standing up for and by our veterans.

This is shameful I have personally spoken with homeless veterans here in Connecticut the problem is real and veteran homelessness in Connecticut has not been ended!

How many homeless veterans would be an acceptable number to Governor Malloy, Congressman Courtney, Senator Chris Murphy & Blumenthal?
