TV tip: "Project Runway"
8 p.m. Thursdays on Bravo
We hardly knew ye, Tim Gunn! Nah, actually we knew Gunn and former “Runway” host Heidi Klum quite well, considering they starred on the show for 16 seasons. But they have trundled off to start their own series, so Karlie Kloss and former “Runway” winner Christian Siriano have stepped into the void. Kloss is fine as host and judge, but I miss Klum’s bluntness. As mentor, Siriano certainly knows what he’s talking about, and he brings a young-turk vibe, in contrast to Gunn’s elder-statesman restraint. What this relatively seamless change proves is that it’s the bedrock structures of “Runway” — talented designers, imaginative challenges, the resulting and often wildly creative clothes — that make it work.
