Sara Evans in concert at Foxwoods
Last month, Sara Evans received one of country music’s greatest honors. She was invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
Now I know what you’re thinking: How is Evans not ALREADY a member of the Grand Ole Opry?
And it is sort of amazing that a star of her caliber hadn’t already been asked, but better late than never.
Evans, who is giving a concert Thursday at Foxwoods, had a trio of million-plus-selling CDs in the early 2000s, with “Born to Fly,” “Restless” and “Real Fine Place.” Evans had three #1 country singles from those albums: “Born to Fly,” “Suds in the Bucket” and “A Real Fine Place to Start.”
So good on you, Sara, for officially being Grand.
Sara Evans, 8 p.m. Thursday, Great Cedar Showroom, Foxwoods; $45, $55; foxwoods.com.
